CycleSync ("the app") keeps sound systems on a group bike ride playing in sync using a shared GPS clock. This policy explains what the app accesses, why, and what leaves your device. In short: CycleSync does not track you, show ads, or sell data. Music you add to a room is uploaded so other riders can play it in sync; nothing else leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to send a diagnostic report.
During normal use, the server receives only what's needed to run a room: a room code, an anonymous per-install device identifier, your device model, and playback timing measurements used to keep the group in sync. This is not linked to your real-world identity.
Music you add to a room is uploaded to our servers. When you add a track to a room's queue, the audio file is sent to our server, converted to a common format, and downloaded by the other phones in that room so everyone can play it together. This is how the app works: every rider needs the same audio in order to play it in sync. We do not browse, catalogue, index, or share these files outside the room they were added to, and they are deleted when the room expires. Only audio files can be uploaded.
Diagnostic reports are opt-in. If you tap Upload logs in the app's GPS status screen, the app sends its recent on-device log files, an automatically generated context summary (app version, room, role, GPS state, time), and any note you type. This helps us fix issues you report. It is sent only when you choose to send it.
Rooms and their uploaded music are deleted when the room expires. Anonymous timing data is kept briefly to diagnose sync problems and is deleted automatically within 7 days. Diagnostic reports you send are deleted automatically within 90 days.
CycleSync is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date.
